Golden Spike National Park

Since we were in the area, today after church we went to the Golden Spike National Monument. The monument around a 30 minute drive west of Tremonton. This monument celebrates the connectins of the Union Pacific Railroad from New York and the Central Pacific Railroad from California. The visitors center has replicas of the original locomotives and are a very impressiv esight to see in person. We arrived at 3:50 p.m. which was just in time to see Locomotive No. 119 be fired up to be driven away to the garage for the night. At 4:30 p.m., Jupiter was fired up and driven away to the garage. Each time, the locomotives blew their whistles and steam, then were driven down and back up the track to give us a great show.
